We are excited to inform you that Apple or IBM will be providing you with 3 days of onsite push-in support to students and staff at your school. Below is a menu of items you may chose from. The trainer will work with classes selected by the iTech Coach and Course Coordinator for one - two periods (45 - 60 minutes each). Some classes are recommended for just teachers and others will be taught to both students and their teacher as indicated in the below description. You will provide Apple or IBM with a schedule of classes/teachers they will visit. Please note you must also indicate your activity class in ProTraxx and have your teachers register.
Trainers will work 8 hours with an hour for lunch, this means that you will want to consider having trainers work with your teachers or iSquad at the beginning or end of the school day.

Participants will investigate potential ways podcasts can enhance their English language learning. We will listen and subscribe to podcasts that support ELL. iTunes will be used to setup preferences and organize podcasts.
Enhancing Instruction for Special Education Students with 21st Century Tools 1
RECOMMENDED FOR TEACHERS ONLY
During this time the professional developer will work with teachers to explain best practices and customize laptops for Special Ed students. We will investigate technology tools to support the best learning environment for all students regardless of their learning differences. These tools can engage all students, enhance their achievement, and inspire them to work harder.
Enhancing Instruction for Special Education Students with 21st Century Tools2
RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
Students will learn to use the built in text to speech recognition as part of their classroom instruction. Students will use Word to share “Who am I” reflections. They will record their reflection and use the text to speech recognition to have it read back to them.
After School:We will work with teachers and the iSquad to use the accessibility tools to configure laptops for ELL and Special Education students.
HARDWARE Troubleshooting Laptops in the Classroom
RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
This class offers basic troubleshooting on laptops along with time for questions and answers.
After School:The school may choose to have the trainer work with the iSquad and/or teachers at the end of the day

What is Podcasting? How can it be used in the classroom as a research tool and to support independent learning? Participants will investigate potential ways podcasts can transform learning. Participants will learn what a podcast is by listening and subscribing to educational podcasts. iTunes will be used to setup preferences and organize podcasts.
Audiocasting in the Classroom 1
RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
Participants will learn to use software tools to create and develop an audiocast.
Audiocasting in the Classroom 2 (Prerequisite Audiocasting 1)
RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
Participants will learn how to upload audiocast created in Audiocasting in the Classroom 1 using eChalk.
Movie Making in the Classroom 1
RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
Students will create a video with still images and sound. Participants will be introduced to the basic features of movie making software while they explore basic communication skills. Students who sometimes struggle with conventional school projects, such as writing research reports or creating outlines, find that movie making helps them to overcome these difficulties.

RECOMMENDED FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
TWO CLASS PERIODS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS SESSION
Teachers and students will learn to use video to create a basic movie that includes a title, transitions between clips, and a soundtrack. Making digital movies is engaging and fun for students and helps to motivate them to do their best work.
After School:The school may choose to have the trainer work with the iSquad and/or teachers at the end of the day
